I've had the good fortune of being invited to sing harmony vocals in a rock band called JESMAQ & The Thump (check us out here). Our first gig is on March 5th at the legendary Horseshoe here in Toronto.
I can't believe my luck. Honestly. I just can't get over it.
And you know what? I'm not even nervous. Little butterflies, yes, but no stage fright at all. Nothing. I'm sure I'll vomit on the 5th. I'm sure I won't sleep on the 4th. But there's no dread or fear; just pure excitement.
There's safety in numbers afterall.
I think this is going to be a huge catalyst in getting me back on stage. I'll get comfy in my group and then wander away and do my own thing. It's how I did it all those moons ago so I'm sure it will go that way again.
Next step? Getting out to some open mics to do my solo stuff. Now *that* is terrifying!
